Good Things to Come
Part of the themed ‘Light Work’ exhibition hosted by ZEST collective in Southampton, this painted sculpture references the manual labour involved during farming who’s work is led by the light but is by no means ‘light work’, and references 18th century harvest bowls.
A years worth of hard work got them to this bountiful harvest, and the food grown will see them through the next year of farming. Enjoying some of that food in a giant feast during Octobers harvest season was a celebration of good things to come.
This painted sculpture featured in the ZEST exhibition ‘Light Work’, November 2024. This was the first exhibition held in their new studios in Southampton, UK, and the first with the new collective members, such as myself.
