The Art of Coffee | Bleur

Walking across the Thames towards Piccadilly.

Since moving out of London, I’ve enjoyed the fresh air and quieter life. But when Bleur puts on an exhibition in Piccadilly, I had to be there! The Gentlemen Baristas got together with Bleur to raise money in an art auction for Well Grounded, a charity that teaches coffee making to people looking for employment in the coffee industry. The launch night happened on the 23rd of September 2021, and the auction went on until the 26th.

The artists who took part were Joanna Layla, Eve Merendes, Jemima Sara and Blandine Bardeau, all of whom primarily use paint in their work. Blandine prepared specialist paint to use for the works - made from various blends and roasts of coffee.

It was great to see the amazing works on show at the Piccadilly shop amongst a buzzing crowd, all sipping espresso martinis. Such a great turnout! Everyone got stuck in with painting their own postcard using coffee ink too.
